Louis Travel is the travel company of the Louis Group, the Cyprus hospitality and tourism group founded in 1935 by Louis Loizou, recognised as the Father of Cyprus Tourism. Based in Nicosia, Louis Travel consists of three major divisions: Outgoing Tour Operating and Retail Travel, Incoming Tourism Agency and Port Agency.
The Incoming Tourism and Destination Management division represents international tour operators and group organisers in Cyprus, processes hotel, car hire and transfer reservations, creates tailor-made programmes for special interest groups and caters to incentive groups with themed events and team-building activities. The company describes itself as a pioneer in sports tourism for professional teams' training and recreational pursuits. The Port Agency division offers port agency services and shore excursions for cruise ships calling at Cyprus ports.
The retail division maintains an IATA accredited office in Nicosia, provides corporate travel service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and arranges air tickets, hotel and cruise reservations, transfers, car hire and sightseeing tours worldwide. The Louis Group employs approximately 2,500 people across Cyprus and Greece and includes Louis Hotels, Celestyal Cruises, LGS Handling and Louis Aviation. The Cyprus Convention Bureau lists Louis Travel Ltd as a DMC and PCO.
