About Visit Bergen
Since 1982, Visit Bergen has promoted Bergen and the surrounding fjord region across Norway and internationally. As the main shareholder of Fjord Norge AS, the company operates across Bergen's urban attractions and the wider Norwegian fjord landscape, positioning itself at the intersection of city tourism and nature-based travel.
The company delivers incoming tourism promotion alongside concrete travel services: fjord and glacier tours, guided cruises, private boat tours, and road trips. Its itinerary planning offering includes an online planner tool, custom multi-day itineraries, and pre-selected tour packages. Cultural programming covers Bryggen, museums, churches, galleries, and Fløibanen funicular access. Culinary experiences feature food tours, Bergen seafood experiences, Bareksten gin tours, and microbrewery guides. Visit Bergen also arranges accommodation across hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, camping, self-catering villas, and cabins, plus airport transfers and public transport information. The Bergen Convention Bureau division targets conference organisers and MICE events, while shore excursions focus on fjord cruises and short cruises.
The company holds Eco-lighthouse certification and operates with a mid-sized team of 11–50 staff members.
